At TestMu AI (formerly LambdaTest), we don't do "intern projects." We don't ask you to fix CSS bugs or fetch coffee. We are architecting the world’s first AI-native platform, and we need aspiring engineers to help build the autonomous engines that drive it.
As an AI-Driven Backend Intern, you will spend 12 months embedded in our core engineering team. This isn't just a learning stint; it’s a high-stakes audition for a permanent seat. You will bridge the gap between raw LLM capabilities and production-grade backend systems. If you want to move beyond "Hello World" and start building logic-heavy systems that scale, this is your launchpad.
The Pillars of your Internship
🚀 1. AI-Integrated Backend Logic (50%)
Prompt Engineering & Orchestration: Learn to build backend wrappers that interact with LLMs to execute complex, multi-step agentic workflows.
Algorithmic Thinking: Write clean, logical code (Python, Golang, etc.) to handle the "thinking" process of our AI agents.
Data Scaffolding: Help design schemas that allow AI to retrieve and process massive datasets in real-time.
⚙️ 2. Scalable Infrastructure Learning (30%)
Microservices Exposure: Contribute to a distributed architecture, learning how to build services that talk to each other without breaking.
Cloud Foundations: Get hands-on with AWS/Azure/GCP to deploy and monitor your own features.
Latency Optimization: Work on reducing the "time-to-first-token" for AI responses.
🧠 3. Ownership & Evolution (20%)
Feature Lifecycle: Take a feature from a whiteboard sketch to a live production environment.
Technical Rigor: Participate in code reviews with senior architects who will push your logic to the absolute limit.
The PPO Trajectory: Complexity-Based Growth
We value intellectual velocity over seniority. This 12-month stint is your runway to a Core Engineering role.
- Phase 1 (Deep Dive): Master the stack and contribute to core microservices.
- Phase 2 (Complexity): Own a critical module (e.g., the execution engine or the agent reasoning layer).
- Phase 3 (Leadership): High-performing interns will be offered a Pre-Placement Offer (PPO) to join as a full-time Backend Developer/Architect, with a career path leading toward engineering leadership.
Candidate Persona: The Top 1%
- Academic Pedigree: Currently pursuing a B.Tech/Dual Degree in Computer Science from an IIT or equivalent premier institute.
- Algorithmic Rigor: Exceptional grasp of Data Structures, Algorithms, and System Design. You should be able to discuss the trade-offs of different database engines or concurrency models.
- The "Builder" Mindset: A portfolio of complex side projects, open-source contributions, or previous high-growth startup experience.
- Language Agnostic: Deep proficiency in Python or Golang, with the ability to pick up any tool required for the mission.
